We are a designer gift company celebrating our 14 year anniversary in the retail business this September 2010. In 1995, seeing there was a gap in the market for high quality design-led Arabic gifts, Susan, a teacher from England who was already working in Dubai started designing and selling her work and opened her first shop in Jumaira Plaza on the Beach Road in September 1996. The shop sells unique gifts and cards from the UK alongside her own expanding range of Arabic themed products including China mugs, coasters and prints. As the demand grew, the shop was extended and Susan started selling to hotels and the Dubai Duty Free. In 2002, Susan Walpole opened a second store in Mercato on the Beach Road. Rightfully nicknamed “The Camel Lady,” Susan’s camel goodies became so popular that the range was extended to t-shirts, towels, candles, mouse pads, magnets, key chains, soft toy camels, and a large range of stationary and handmade cards. Now a household name in the UAE, Susan Walpole’s products are bought by tourists and local residents and are sent all over the world. With hundreds of gift ideas and a frequently growing range, Susan continues to expand through-out the GCC. Susan opened her newest signature store in Dubai Mall in November 2008.
