Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre

Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) is Dubai Government’s official entity for promoting space science in the United Arab Emirates. Originally established in 2006 as the Emirates Institute for Advanced Science & Technology (EIAST), the Centre is responsible for accumulating scientific knowledge, recruiting local talents and launching the UAE’s first satellite series namely the DubaiSat-1 and DubaiSat-2. In 2015, following a restructuring, it was rechristened as MBRSC.

Today, it is tasked with leading the country’s first mission to Mars, dubbed the Hope Probe. The space agency is also spearheading the development of KhalifaSat, the nation’s first satellite to be built by an all-Emirati team. Apart from research and development activities, the organization is fronting a scientific renaissance in the region in order to create a knowledge-based economy and foster sustainable development.
