Dr. Ashok Govila with experience of over 35 years in Aesthetic Plastic surgery including in England, United Arab Emirates and in India has some more then fifty thousand successful surgical procedures ending into a delighted patients to his credit. Dr. Ashok Govila was formerly working as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in the United Kingdom National Health Service. He was based at the Middlesborough General Hospital Northern Regional Health Authority, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Today His areas of special interest include Nose job, Breast Job, Body Sculpturing, tummy tuck, fat transfer breast and face, reconstructive surgery of the face, breast and abdomen. Dr. Ashok Govila is a trained Hand, Burns and Micro vascular surgeon. He is an artist by nature his paintings are part of this web site.

He is known internationally as an author of several books in the field of plastic surgery such as known internationally as an author of several books in the filed of plastic surgery such as “Practical approach to plastic surgery” and “alternative free flaps” and co-author of several books. His hobbies include oil painting on canvas and photography. You do see some of his landscapes on this site.

As a Alumni of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh, a university Hospital his work carries respect and authority and his clinical experience presented here on site speaks for itself.

As a medical student at Gajra Raja Media College Gwalior he enjoyed popularity among students and teachers alike owing to his almost professional approach to cultural activities of the college. As a cultural secretary of the college during 1972-74 he enjoyed picking up first prizes on several of Art disciplines line Fine arts, Oil paintings, Sculpturing, Instrumental music solo and Rangoli paintings (local folk art of India)

Continuing in this very Institute he completed his masters training and degree (Master of Surgery, M.S.) in 1974 under one of the most renowned neurosurgeon Prof. R.S Dharker as the head of the department of surgery.

The Little did he know of Plastic surgery then but his keen inclination to fine arts and sculpturing has created a foundation for the making of a future Plastic Surgeon. His dynamism toward taking art to surgery took him to the father of Plastic surgery Prof. C. Balakrishan at PGIMER, Chandigrah, in India. At Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh he was churned and trained ceaselessly for 2 years by top two Indian Plastic surgeons namely Prof CBK and Prof. C. P. Sahwney during 1975-77.

The fire to ascend and serve the masses better took this young and well-trained plastic surgeon to England in 1978 where he was exposed to microsurgical methods of reconstruction by Prof. D. A. McGrowther at Shotely Bridge Hospital, Consett, CO. Durham in England. The association lasted full four years with Dr. Ashok and ended abruptly when he has to leave shotely bridge to take the first chair in Britain in London. However the memories of those golden days cherished for the life time on both sides and the experience was greatly used when he returned back home in 1983 to join as Assistant at the parent institute PGI Chandigarh. It was here due to the inability to practice microsurgery the birth of the method described in the book took place. He ascended fast into a associate and then into a additional in 1986. In 1993 professor Ashok moved to Middle east and with him moved his technique of reconstruction that he continued to practice today and recommends strongly when other methods of reconstruction cannot be used.
